highlight of the stroll - view from Rottwandkopf
view from the starting point
view of Spitzingsee; "Spitzingsee" literally means “pointed lake,” likely referring to the surrounding peaks reflected in the water.
The terrain is varied but never extreme: a mix of alpine pasture trails, rocky steps, and narrow ridge paths that stay engaging without becoming technically difficult.
Cross section towards Raukopf
Originally built as a shelter for mountaineers, the Rottwandhaus is now a rustic hut offering food, drinks, and a place to rest.
final climb towards Rottwandkopf
The komoot route shows the last meters to Rottwandkopf as difficult portion. It doesn't require any climbing and it can be easily done. The only technical portion which requires climbing is towards Taubenstein. If not feeling comfortable it can be avoided though.
Rotwandhaus - always popular
This mountain lake (1,084 m) is a major outdoor hotspot in both summer and winter – known for hiking, skiing, and ice skating.
