South Wales - Bannau Brycheiniog National Park
Day 1 - Road trip from London to Pontypool - city strolls through the Cotswolds
Time of the year: May
The trip started with a road trip from London to the south of Wales through the Cotswolds with a rented car from the airport. There are some things to be taken into consideration before renting a car:
Most car-renting agencies require a credit card for making the deposit. For the most basic option excess liability (Excess is the amount that you are liable to pay should you be in an accident of if your rental car is damaged) and security deposit are things one should take into consideration.
As it is well known one might have to adjust driving on the wrong side of the road. From personal experience, the adjustment should take around 2-3 driving days, but it depends on each individual.
The Cotswolds is a region in the centre South West of England, which is a popular area for tourism due to its idyllic villages, historic market towns, natural attractions and due to its distinct housing, made from the golden-coloured Cotswold stone.
The Cotswolds National Landscape is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Visited cities: Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper Slaughter, Naunton, Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, although half a day is not nearly enough to experience the Cotswolds at its fullest.
